What age children are you able to accommodate?
We provide care for babies from six weeks old up to children aged four before they head to school.
What are your opening times?
We’re open Monday – Friday, 8:00am to 6:00pm however do have an early riser’s session 7:30-8:00am and can accommodate children and babies for whole days or half days ( Ad hoc only) depending on your requirements.
Do you have any space available for new children to join the nursery?
We do currently have places available, however demand is high so we always recommend registering for your child’s place early to avoid disappointment.
How do you stay in touch with parents and family?
We like to keep our parents and families informed of the latest news from the nursery and we regularly send out emails to keep everyone up to date. These emails contain news, requests and important dates for the diary. We also use an app called ‘Famly’ which we communicate through, and you will receive daily diaries, photos of your children each day and receive lots of information about your child’s day including, what they have eaten, how they have slept and more.
What will my child be eating during their time at Rocking Horse Nursery?
We offer the children (depending on their attendance and age) the following meals:
- Breakfast – We offer a choice of cereals at breakfast time
- Morning snack – Fresh fruit and vegetables is offered as a morning snack
- Lunch – Children enjoy a two-course lunch with a hot main meal served on a three week rotation. Typical meals include risotto, spaghetti bolognaise, roast dinner while puddings include Greek yoghurt with berry coulees, fruit salad and lemon cheesecake. Vegetarian and other dietary options are catered for with the menu updated and changed three to four times a year with parents consulted ahead of new and revised menus being implemented
- Afternoon tea – Children enjoy an afternoon tea which can include sandwiches, toast and crudities followed by fruit.
How are your fees calculated?
Our fees are split into three age groups, 0-2 years and 2-3 years, 3+ years while the following sessions are available:
- Daily rate
- Full time monthly
Are there any added benefits to enrolling my child with Rocking Horse Nursery?
As part of the Newbury Racecourse estate, the Rocking Horse Nursery is able to offer parents additional benefits. These include priority ticket access to major racedays, complimentary tickets to selected race days as well as access to a number of social events throughout the year e.g. graduation.
