Coral To Extend Partnership

Newbury Racecourse And Coral Extend Partnership Ahead Of Much-Anticipated 2025 Coral Gold Cup Meeting

The extension of Newbury and Coral’s successful partnership follows increased attendance figures and record racegoer experience in 2024

Newbury Racecourse has confirmed a two-year extension to its successful partnership with leading bookmaker Coral, as anticipation builds for the upcoming Coral Gold Cup – one of the highlights of the British National Hunt Racing calendar.

Initially a three-year partnership agreement, the renewed agreement will see Coral continue as a principal partner of the Racecourse and title sponsor of the Gold Cup throughout 2025 and 2026, following a record-breaking 2024 that delivered exceptional racegoer experiences and a 12% year-on-year increase in attendance. The Coral-backed campaign around last year’s Gold Cup brought a dynamic range of entertainment and activity to racegoers, a formula set to return – and grow – this year.

The partnership between Newbury and Coral also continues to include the Coral Challow Hurdle Day, another key fixture in the racing calendar, known for its family-friendly atmosphere and high-quality racing. 2024’s instalment welcomed a bumper crowd, an incredible 48% up on 2023’s attendance.

Excitement is already building for this year’s Coral Gold Cup, taking place on Saturday 29th November, with ticket sales up 17% year-on-year. Fans have responded quickly to the Racecourse’s Early Bird ticket offer, with two-day passes – to include Friday 28th November’s Coral Long Distance Hurdle Day – proving particularly popular for those looking to enjoy maximum value and a full weekend of racing and entertainment.

The Coral Gold Cup remains a major event on the Newbury calendar and a meaningful part of Coral’s racing sponsorship portfolio, with both organisations committed to delivering another exceptional experience for racegoers in 2025 and beyond.

Simon Clare, PR Director for Coral, said: “We are delighted that Coral is to continue as the official title sponsor of the Coral Gold Cup meeting – one of the most prestigious and anticipated meetings of the Jumps season.
“The extension reinforces Coral as the most committed, long-standing sponsor in British racing and we’re looking forward to working with Newbury to build on the success of 2024’s Coral Gold Cup.’’

Shaun Hinds, CEO for Newbury Racecourse, commented: “In recent years our partnership with Coral on the Gold Cup and Challow has enabled us to significantly elevate the overall raceday experience for all racegoers. The Gold Cup has long been a ‘must go’ fixture on the calendar and the Challow is fast becoming the premier family racing day in the region. I’m delighted therefore that we have been able to extend this already successful partnership and am looking forward to even greater achievements over the next two years.”
