Farming Community To Attend Newbury Racecourse In Support Of The Countryside

Newbury Racecourse welcomes local farmers to Saturday's BetVictor Jump Season Finale showing support of the farming community

On Saturday, 22nd March, Newbury Racecourse will open its doors to local farmers and countryside supporters. This is a unique opportunity for everyone who works in or relies on the countryside to come together and show their support for the farming community.

Farmers are the backbone of rural life, and Saturday will serve as a platform for them to showcase the vital role they play in sustaining local communities and businesses. It will also be a moment for those who cherish the countryside, whether for work, business, or leisure, to support the farming industry.

As well as being a top day’s racing, the event will feature a display of 100 tractors running along the course, giving attendees the chance to meet members of the farming community and get a close-up look at both new and vintage models. Leading local National Hunt trainer Nicky Henderson will be on hand to provide some tips for the days racing with the day finishing with an after racing party and live DJ.

Dan Willis, local farmer and event co-ordinator, commented: “This is an incredible opportunity for us to unite and show how much the countryside means to us all. Whether you work the land, depend on its produce, or simply appreciate the great outdoors, we encourage everyone to come and show their support. The event promises to be family-friendly, offering a chance to connect with like-minded individuals who share a passion for the rural way of life.”

Shaun Hinds, Chief Executive Officer at Newbury Racecourse, commented: “Here at Newbury Racecourse we continually strive to support and showcase the local community. Last year we hosted the first ever Community Raceday and this weekend we will be showing support of the local farming and rural community. West Berkshire is home to numerous rural businesses as well as one the country’s main horseracing training hubs in Lambourn, Saturday is an opportunity for all our racegoers to celebrate and engage with the activities of our local rural communities.”
